What do you get when you have a broken man and a girl with a secret? You get the Forever trilogy: Forever Black, Forever You, Forever Us.

From page one I was rooting for Ellery Lane and Connor Black. Connor uses women as merely a release until Ellery Lane hauls his drunk behind out of a bar one night.

Emotions don't play a part in Connor's rules and Ellery has a big secret, can they each put their past behind them so they can be together forever?

You'll have to read them to find out!

Definitely worth the price.

The Unreality of Fiction

"That would never happen in real life."

That comment (or one similar) has shown up in numerous reviews and I just don't get it. Isn't that the point of fiction - to take us out of our real lives and transport us to a different reality for a couple of hours?

For example: in The Collector by Nora Roberts the main characters meet in a police station where she is the witness to a crime and he is a suspect. Granted, the police would keep them apart in the real world but it's the best way for them to meet for the storyline.

Let me put it this way: do you go to the movies expecting to see reality? I would say "no" unless you're watching a documentary. Take the Die Hard movies for example. In what world would any of that happen (other than terrorists taking over an office building)? So what is so different about a book? As an author I try to keep my stories grounded in reality but, ultimately, it's all about the story - it's my story and it will be told my way.

I'm not saying they're wrong, I'm just saying that it doesn't make any sense to me.

Here is my question for the week: Do the books you read have to be "real"?

The Collector by Nora Roberts

I was ecstatic when this showed up on my Kindle yesterday - Nora's books never disappoint (at least so far)!

Lila and Ash meet under some very difficult circumstances. Burglary and murder ensue as Lila and Ash come to know each other and start to realize there is a definite spark between them.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I devoured it over two days. I loved the little side story of Julie and Luke finding each other.

Remenicky Writes Reviews - Changing Course by Aly Martinez

Welcome to my first review! I have posted reviews on Groodreads and Amazon so I thought I would post them here also so you can keep up with what I'm reading.


Today I finished Changing Course by Aly Martinez.


This book grabbed me on the first page and didn't let go. Jesse and Brett are a great couple but they had a lot of issues to work through to get to their HEA. Her insecurity, his temper, and his wife.

There were times when I really wanted to throw my Kindle at the wall because Brett was being very dense about his feelings and moving on from his marriage. After thinking he's lost everything again he finally pulls his head out of his posterior and realizes what has been in front of him all along: Jesse.

A must read for anyone who loves an HEA.

Only The Muse Knows

Ragan's Song is coming...

I gave myself a deadline - release date will be in October. My editor has it on her calendar for August so I'm pretty confidant that an October release is doable.

My muse isn't so sure... plotlines and scenes from book 3, tentatively titled Fate Stepped In are all my muse seems to want to work on lately. Makes me glad I gave myself plenty of time to get Ragan's Song finished. I was stressing about the length, it's a bit shorter than Saving Cassie, but there are some scenes that haven't been written so that may.

Then I realized that is one of the advantages of being an Indie Author - my books/novellas can be as long or as short as I want them to be - there's no publishing house dictating the length. So, Ragan's Song may end up being a long novella... Only The Muse Knows!



Sorry for the short post this week but my muse is clamoring to get some words written so I better listen!
